More Cupcakes

Come along with me on a little journey my friends.

On this day, I hit lucky number 13 on my food truck quest. Being born on the 13th, I've always found that number to be my ally while others shunned it. Interesting that I'd find this truck by surprise on my mission to land The Roost Truck. I hadn't seen the landing tweet. A gift, as it were. Even more (ha ha): a truck serving up baked goods falls on the proverbial bakers' dozen.

Spooky, no?

Armed with our bounty of fried fowl, it was time to stalk dessert. My, oh my. This monstrous truck has definitely put the "shi" in shi-shi cupcakes. That display window on the side sure makes it easy to start drooling as you decide which flavor to savor.

I'm a sucker for both caramel and chocolate. Seeing as I was going light, I only ordered two cupcakes, though it was hard to limit myself at that. I went with salted caramel and Valrhona, which just about blew my mind off because, as a seasoned baker, I know and use this brand. This is serious chocolate folks.

Ok, time to dig in. First, let me tell you these are gorgeous. More is not kidding when they call these boutique cupcakes. That chocolate was definitely my favorite of the two. Smooth chocolate ganache on top and a luscious chocolate mousse filling.

And yes, I did eat two pieces of fried chicken, a buttermilk biscuit and two whole cupcakes for lunch that day. I never said this would be easy.
