Chicago Pizza Boss

This past weekend was the first of what will hopefully be many Food Truck Extravaganza events in Schaumburg hosted by Toasty Cheese. Food trucks, beer and entertainment. What's not to love?

Even better: I was looking to score four new trucks. Only three panned out, but that's still rather epic. And I topped my previous best: I ate full orders from six different trucks. And boy did it hurt.

Chicago Pizza Boss is, hands down, the largest food truck I have seen. It's a shipping crate on wheels. Enormous doesn't really even come close. So, of course, it had to be my first stop.

I strolled up to the window with my pal Greg. After some deliberation, we went with The Danza: Pepperoni, mozz, parm and san marzano sauce. You know it, baby.

Now this was Greg's first truck ever, and he's heard me talk up my experience. So it was quite the trip for both of us when I mentioned who I was and got the reaction that I did.

It's a mix of awesome and hilarious that people get excited to see me. All I do is eat food and talk about it. But I understand that talking about it is what the trucks need. And so talk about it, I will.

The pizza was ready in about 10, fresh from the on-board brick oven. The sauce was a little sweeter than I'm used to, but all together was a tasty pie. The real show stopper: that crust! Super crisp on the outside, super soft on the inside. Nicely done!

Later on Instagram I saw a snap of a pizza they do that is basically four pizzas in one: each quarter is different, as a play on the four seasons. Very cool and for sure that will be the next thing I get.

I can't imagine how that truck will get around in the city, but I can't wait to see it!

The Food:
The Danza! Pepperoni and delicious.
