Beyond Borders

This was another mission to 600 West Chicago. Prior to this point we had been driving, but parking there is dodgy. The googles claimed 18 minutes by foot, so Eva and I set out, determined to see for ourselves. Our target? SamichBox.

That's right, SamichBox.

You see, this was the day before the Jefferson Park Arts Fest, complete with four trucks I hadn't hit yet. So the plan was to knock out SamichBox today, leaving only three new trucks for tomorrow. Prior to this point, I'd never hit more than two trucks in one shot.

So imagine our surprise as we walked up and noticed this big beauty among the trucks. This was a nice surprise. And you know what they say: A bird in the hand...

Guess that means I'll hit all four tomorrow. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I don't mess around.

Time to see what this truck has to offer. All the sandwiches sounded delicious, but a Ham and Brie? Done!

The sandwich was fantastic. Great bread, plenty o' ham, good strong mustard, creamy brie, and something I've never seen on a sandwich before: asparagus. That put it over the top.

Farm to food truck indeed! Looking forward to more from this truck.
